Beatrice Travis, von allen Bea genannt ist die gute Seele in Dan Tannas Privatdetektei. Liebevoll nimmt sie Dans Telefonanrufe entgegen und unterstützt ihn bei seinen Ermittlungen. Bea ist verwitwet und hat eine Tochter. Dan war ein guter Freund von Beas verstorbenen Mann. Bea selbst scheint ein wenig verliebt in Dan zu sein, wobei sich aber nie etwas dergleichen in der Serie abspielt. Beide sind Freunde. Sehr gute Freunde. Und es gibt nichts, was beide nicht füreinander tunwürden, selbst wenn man sein eigenes Leben dabei aufs Spiel setzt.

Sie trat in "Love, American Style" (1969) für 5 Staffeln auf. Einige ihrer bekannten Filme waren  Lord Love a Duck (1966), Spinout (1966), Russ Meyer's Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970), The Choirboys (1977), and Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995).  

Davis spielte auch in einigen bekannten weiteren TV-Serien mit, zum Beispiel in der Actionserie  Knight Rider: sie spielte darin die Rolle der  Tanya Walker iin dem Pilotfilm "Knight of the Phoenix." Sie hatte Gastrollen in Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., Magnum, P.I., The Love Boat, Sie war, wie Serienpartner Bart Braverman auch, öfters in der Spielshow  Match Game. und in der Show  Battle of the Network Stars special.
